A state high court in Owerri, Imo State capital has restrained the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its chairman, Alhaji Adamu Muazu from using any result other than the one presented by the organising secretary of the party during the November 1, 2014 ward congress in the state.
The plaintiffs, Osita Opara, Damian Mbahotu, Anyaghara Linus and Mrs. A.N. Uzoechi had dragged the PDP, its chairman and INEC to court over plans to set aside the ward congress results in the state.
In his verdict over the matter, Justice L.C. Azuama said, “It is hereby ordered that the 1st and 2nd defendants either by themselves, agents, servant or workmen are restrained from using any other results other than the result presented by the organizing secretary to the 1st defendant as the results of the ward congresses of the 1st defendant conducted on 1st day of November, 2014 in Imo State pending the determination of the motion on notice”.
The case has been adjourned to November 28, 2014.
