Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo, is pointing up his deep economic and financial knowledge as he seeks his party’s nomination for 2019 general Election.
According to him, Nigeria needs a president who knows how to handle the economy and steer the affairs of the state in a manner that equity and justice will be meted to all irrespective of political, religious or any other consideration.
Dankwambo who holds Phd in Accountancy is a versatile administrator, who is quite accommodating of people of different religious and geopolitical origins.
He spoke while meeting with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders and delegates in Ekiti and Ondo states.
Dankwambo, a presidential hopeful on the platform of the party, first met PDP members in Ado-Ekiti before doing same in Akure yesterday.
The governor, while faulting the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), said rather than making the economy grow, Buhari and his party were killing it.
“We need a leader who is capable, competent, and who knows how things work. We don’t need people who are killing the economy. People who don’t know their left from their right. I have the competence and our party has the experience of making great things happen,” he said.
Dankwambo also faulted the APC for eroding all the democratic gains left at the centre by the PDP.
He noted that it showed in the manner elections under the APC government were being conducted far below acceptable standards.
“Look at what they did in the last governorship election in Ekiti State. It was terribly flawed and unacceptable. I appreciate Governor Ayodele Fayose and the people for their gallantry in the face of high level intimidation and harassment. I am hopeful that the stolen mandate of the PDP candidate will be restored by the court,” he noted.
