Super Eagles manager Sunday Oliseh says he is planning paramount to stop Guinea’s free-flowing football in Tuesday’s African Nations Championship Group C decider slated for Stade Mganda, Rubavu.
Oliseh describes Guinea as a good side that is capable of beating any team if underrated, adding that having watched them against Tunisia on Friday, his players will have to double up their efforts against the pacy Syli Stars strikers.
The Nigeria manager pointed out that staying behind to study Guinea is paying off afterall because it has given the coaching crew a clearer picture of how to approach the match.
“It was cool we waited behind to study Guinea closely in their match against Niger since we are playing them next,” Oliseh told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“Guinea play good football and it is our duty to stop them from playing their free flowing football on Tuesday.
“No team should be underrated in this tournament. I have seen them play and they are side to be serious with and I am happy with the mentality of my players
“My team will continue to improve as the tournament continues.
“We are not there yet, but we’ll keep working and fighting until the cup is won even though I have said winning the trophy is no do-or-die affair because we are going through a rebuilding process.
“We are still a work in progress.”
Nigeria need at least a draw against Guinea to pick a quarter-final ticket while Guinea must win to pick a slot in the knockout stages.
