The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, has said that the Chinese medical team in the country are still in quarantine, and that all interactions with them had been through teleconferencing.
The Minister of Health, Ehanire, spoke in Abuja, during the briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 on Friday.
He said that Chinese medical doctors were sharing their experiences from their quarantine location to help in the coronavirus fight in the country.
According to the minister, they are still observing the 14-day quarantine but engaging via teleconferencing with officials and partners of the ministry.
“The Chinese team are still in quarantine for 14 days but our directors, officials and technical partners in the ministry have had a teleconference with them, in which they exchanged ideas and were able to learn a lot of things about how they handled their cases, patients and how they carried out their infection prevention, he said.
“The shipment that came in through the United Nations system and the one that came from China were decontaminated as a routine process.
“They have both been decontaminated by the same process by the Ministry of Environment.”
