It was a night to remember for Chelsea as they picked up their first points of the Champions League campaign.
The Blues recorded a 2-1 victory over Lille on Wednesday night with goals from Tammy Abraham and Willian making the difference on the night.
Frank Lampard made a number of changes for this one, but will be thankful that he decisions paid off.
Here’s how we rated the Blues.
BT Sport pundits deliver verdict on Frank Lampard’s Chelsea amid battle with Arsenal and Spurs
Kepa Arrizabalaga
Made a good save just before the goal in the opening half. Couldn’t do much about the goal, with another set piece being the issue.
Had very little to do in the second half, with Lille threatening little on his goal, even when on the break. Made a good decisive clearance after a short back-pass. 6
Cesar Azpilicueta
Looked solid in his position on the right of the three at the back, not really troubled too much and Lille having little joy on his flank.
Didn’t get forward too much in the second half when Chelsea took the lead, looking to protect the advantage. 7
Kurt Zouma
Got in a real tangle where Kepa had to bail him out with a header. Also, not good for the goal in the first half, with the header coming between him and Tomori.
So much better in the second half, however, looking strong and more confident. Making good decisions as well. 7
Willian proves his worth, Chelsea’s huge issue and Champions League finally gets going
Fikayo Tomori
A brilliant ball in to Abraham for the opening goal, and a couple of excellent bits of defending. However, like Zouma caught out with the corner that conceded the goal.
In the second half he continued the form he has shown this season, with some great defending. One poor back pass that almost ruined the night, but very good again. 8
Reece James
Put in a couple of really dangerous balls into the box. Bad yellow card though, taking out Jonathan Ikone when running through.
In the second half, not really the impact going forward. Pretty solid defensively. 6
Marcos Alonso
Saw a lot of the ball in the first half and put in some really good crosses. Defensively, beaten a couple of times by Jonathan Bamba who made life difficult.
In the second half he had less of an opportunity to get forward, moved into a more defensive role. 6.
Jorginho
Really good pressing and, as usual, was decent with his passing as he looked to be incisive and direct in what he did on the ball.
Held his position well in the second half and controlled the tempo of the game. Becoming a key member of this team. 8
N’Golo Kante
Playing in a two with Jorginho, and a couple of times the Blues were caught on counters through the middle. Not as influential on the ball in the first half.
In the second half, however, he was much more in the game and putting himself about. Important for Chelsea to keep him fit now. 7
Willian
Worked hard off the ball in the first half, but his quality on it wasn’t really enough. Too often attacks broke down and he didn’t play the right pass
A couple of sloppy balls in the second half as well. But when it counted the Brazilian was there to volley home. A great finish. 7
Chelsea fans will love what the BT Sport pundits said about Frank Lampard and the club’s future
Mason Mount
More in the play and linked up well with Alonso on the left. Not enough quality in the final third, however.
He looked so much more dangerous in the second half when he moved centrally. One really good chance after an excellent touch, but he couldn’t find the back of the net. 6
Tammy Abraham
Lost the ball a few times and couldn’t really hold up play. But when he got his chance in the first half he took it really well with a nice finish.
Didn’t have much of a chance in the second half, but worked hard off the ball for his side. 7
Substitutes
Callum Hudson-Odoi (on for James 67′)
Made a massive impact when he came on, with a nice assist for Willian. Exactly what Lampard would have wanted from him. 8
Pedro (on for Willian 84′)
Didn’t have a chance to influence the game too much. 5
Mateo Kovacic (on for Mount 87′)
Solid in the centre. 5
