President Muhammadu Buhari has dissolved the Executive Management Team of the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria.
The President also approved the appointment of Ahmed Lawan Kuru as Managing Director of the Corporation in place of Mustafa Chike-Obi, who was appointed by the Goodluck Jonathan led administration.
Chike-Obi is the pioneer chief executive of the corporation.
Buhari also approved the reconstitution of the management team of the corporation as follows Kola Ayeye as Executive Director, Eberechukwu Uneze as Executive Director and Aminu Ismail as Executive Director.
Until his appointment as Managing Director of AMCON, Kuru was the Group Managing Director of Enterprise Bank Limited.
He started his banking career with the old Habib Bank in 1985 and rose through the ranks to become an Executive Director of Bank PHB (now Keystone Bank) in 2005.
According to a statement from the President’s Spokesman, Femi Adesina, on Tuesday, the appointment of Kuru and the three new AMCON Executive Directors is with effect from August 18, 2015.
