President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointments of heads of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
The Permanent Secretary, General Services Office (GSO), Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Mr Olusegun Adekunle, who made the announcement on behalf of the SGF, Mr Boss Gida Mustapha, said their appointments were approved following their confirmation by the Senate after their nomination by the President.
Mr. Anthony Okechukwu Ojukwu, Imo State (S/E) was appointed the Executive Secretary (ES), NHRC for an initial term of five years; Mr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa Ondo State (S/W), Non-Executive Director, NDDC, initial term of four years; Hon. Chika Ama Nwauwa, Imo State (S/E) Non-Executive Director, NDDC initial term of four years and Mr. Nwogu N. Nwogu, Abia State (S/E) Non-Executive Director, NDDC, also for an initial term of four years.
The circular which also listed Professor James Momoh, Edo State (S/S) as the Chairman, NERC for an initial term of five years, added that the appointments take immediate effect.
