President Muhammadu Buhari met with his immediate predecessor, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, at the Presidential Villa Abuja on Monday.
Jonathan arrived the home of the Nigerian president where he was until May 29, 20015 the chief occupant in company with his Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs, Dr. Dudaffah.
The former president was chauffeur-driven in a Range Rover Sports Utility Vehicle closely shadowed by a Prado SUV. He arrived the Villa at 2.00 pm and immediately entered into a closed-door meeting with President Buhari.
He emerged from the meeting which lasted less for than 20 minutes with the Buhari accompanying him to his waiting van.
None of the two leaders volunteered any information as to Jonathan’s mission to the villa.
The meeting between the two leaders took place at the new banquet hall of the presidential villa.
Though President Buhari has on several occasions praised Jonathan for conceding defeat to him even before the final tally of votes, the incumbent president has made what he adjudged horrendous misrule under Jonathan his singsong.
The former president appeared radiant in his traditional Niger Delta dress with some air of easeness about him.
His visit is coming a few days after he returned from Tanzania where he led the Commonwealth Observation Group to monitor the Presidential elections in that country.
