A former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Professor Tam David-West, has described former Head of State and presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari, as the best material to lead Nigeria out of its present woes, saying, “Buhari is the finest man who can remove the country from the shackles of acute corruption, which is Nigeria’s bane of development.”
David-West spoke in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Friday ,when the Grassroots Mobilization for Muhammadu Buhari (GMMB), one of the groups championing the return of General Buhari to lead Nigeria, paid him a courtesy visit in his residence.
The renowned varsity don also condemned the withdrawal of the security personnel attached to the Speaker of House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal. He described the act as showing the ignorance of President Goodluck Jonathan about what the law says.
According to Professor David-West, Nigeria urgently needed a patriotic personality like Buhari to salvage the country. While noting that he had worked with many heads of state and presidents, with Buhari standing out positively, the virologist lamented what he tagged “the unprecedented level of corruption in the present government”.
“Nigeria is the only country that makes a budget for corruption,” he lamented, and reiterated that “Buhari is the only one I can vouch for to lead us now.”
