The first Federal Executive Council billed to hold after President Muhammadu Buhari return from three-month medical sojourn to London could not hold.
The council meets every Wednesday at Aso Rock Villa with the president usually presiding.
A statement by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, had indicated that this week meeting had been cancelled.
He did gave no reason for the cancellation.
The development has accentuated concerns that the president not have fully recovered to govern Nigeria.
What is happening is following a similar pattern when the President hurried home in March but was able to hold the FEC meeting.
Besides, he operated from his home just as he has indicated that he would do again this second time around.
The next FEC meeting is seven days away, however, it remains to be seen if President Buhari will cancel again or allow Vice President Osinbajo to Preside.
“President Muhammadu Buhari, will however, receive the Report of the investigation committee into the allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayo Oke, headed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, at 12 noon, in his office”. Adesina said.
