There are strong indications that some of the Dapchi schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram Islamist insurgents have been released.
Channels correspondent reports that the military could not allow journalists into the town but that they were forced to stay about two kilometres from the city cente.
The correspondent who was speaking from Dapchi said that he was able to observe a motorcade that came into the town ostensibly to deliver the girls.
He however said that he made a call to one of the parents of the abducted girls who confirmed the girls had been returned.
According to the correspondent, there was shouts of jubiliation in the town an indication that happy mood
