Stakeholders in Yenagoa Constituency 3, comprising Okordia, Zarama and Biseni clans in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, have rejected the second term bid of the member representing the area at the House of Assembly, Gentle Emelah.
It was gathered on Wednesday that the stakeholders, under the aegis of Okordia/Zarama/Biseni Patriotic Front, hinged their rejection on allegations bordering on Emelah’s ineffective representation of the constituency during his first term at the Assembly.
Their opposition to Emelah’s second term ambition was contained in an open letter dated October 30, 2014, addressed to Governor Seriake Dickson.
In the letter, signed by the chairman of the group, Abari Tonye, and the secretary, Aye Ebilayefa, they accused the lawmaker of establishing all constituency projects meant for the area in his Zarama clan.
They also punctured Emelah’s claims that he initiated the peace deal that resulted in the resolution of the inter-communal conflict between some communities in Okordia and Biseni.
