A panel of reconciliation set up by the Bayelsa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the just-concluded primary elections has been shunned by some aggrieved aspirants on the platform of the party.
It was gathered that the angry aspirants, who contested for the party’s ticket for the state House of Assembly and National Assembly primaries, had gone ahead to pick the ticket of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to realise their ambition in the 2015 elections.
The state chairman of the PDP, Samuel Inokoba, a retired army colonel, had last Monday inaugurated the panel to reconcile aspirants who might be dissatisfied with the outcome of the exercise.
While the paramount ruler of Opume community in Ogbia and President Goodluck Jonathan’s confidant, Johnny Tuner, heads the panel for Bayela East, former deputy governor, Peremobowei Ebebi, chairs Bayelsa West while former Commissioner for Justice, Talford Ongolo, heads Bayelsa Central.
Sources said a meeting called by the panel on Tuesday was shunned by the aggrieved members including former President of the Ijaw Youth Council, Oyinfie Jonjon, and former Commissioner for Capital City Development, Zuwa Konugha.
