Leaders of Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Tuesday received the clearance certificate of Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike presented to him by the PDP south-south governorship screening committee.
The PDP leaders drawn from all the 23 local government areas of the state were led by the Minister of Sports, Dr Tammy Danagogo, former UBA chairman, Chief Ferdinand Anabrabra, members of the House of Representatives and members of the Rivers State Assembly.
Presenting the clearance to the party leaders, Barrister Wike said that his successful screening proves that all the all rumours being peddled on his alleged disqualification have failed.

He said the successful screening certificate is the beginning of the march to Brick House in 2015.
“This marks an important milestone in our march to the Brick House in 2015. This clearance certificate has faulted all the rumours being spread that I will be disqualified.
“I am presenting this certificate to all our leaders because this struggle belongs to all Rivers people as we work towards emancipating the people of the state and enthrone development”.
He called on Rivers PDP stakeholders to remain committed to the ideals of the development of Rivers State.
Wike said they should not be distracted by several sponsored stories by the moles planted in the party.
Responding, Minister of Sports, Dr Tammy Danagogo assured the governorship aspirant that all PDP leaders and members are committed to his emergence as the party’s candidate.
The Minister noted that Barrister Wike is a committed leader who has invested his political skills and resources to rebuild and sustain the party.
Speaking on behalf of Rivers PDP Elders, Chief Ferdinand Anabrabra said that the project to vote in Barrister Wike as governor in 2015 belongs to all Rivers people.
He said the party leaders resolved to ensure that the Barrister Wike leads the PDP to victory in 2015.
Also present at the presentation were federal commissioners, former legislators and former council chairmen.
