Owing to the bad condition of the 15kilometers Malumfashi-Yari Bori road connecting over forty communities, about 45 women have lost their lives in Yari-Bori Village of Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State from January to date.
Similarly, several children have died from the six child killers diseases before they seek medication from their Village to Malumfashi General Hospital or Kafur Health Care Centre.
Malam Ismail Ibrahim S-Pawa, the Chairman of a forum known as “First Bank to Yari-Bori Resilient Forum” disclosed this while speaking with Newsmen in Katsina.
Pawa said that the 15 Kilometer road is unmotorable as it has five rivers across it. “The five rivers have become a source of concern as they have been causing the death of women and children that are sick and needed medical attention”.
“We have been making frantic efforts to solicit for assistance from the state Government so that the road can be constructed to salvage our people from economic bondage, insecurity and health challenges but to no avail”.
“It is highly regrettable that the current Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari is from our Local Government Area and serving his second tenure”.
“As a youth group, we have made several presentation to Governor Masari over our predicament but nothing has been done”.
“We have also approached our Assembly member and National Assembly over the same issue but nothing has been done to rescue our people from untimely death”, he said.
The Chairman appealed to those in position of Authority to salvage the people residing along Yari-Bori to Malumfashi Area as they have been losing their love ones especially during rainy season.
Pawa directed his Kinsmen to resort to fervent prayers for God’s intervention over the matter. (Daily Independent)
