Former Military President, retired General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, on Wednesday spoke from Germany where he has been in the last few weeks to dispel rumours of his death.
Babangida, who is fondly called IBB by Nigerians, said he is alive contrary to reports that he had passed on.
Babangida, speaking on a Television Continental programme on Wednesday, said he would soon return home.
The Lagos-based television programme, Journalists Hangout, was quoted by online medium, African Examiner, as where Babangida called in to dispel the rumour of his death.
He told TVC crew: “I am alive.”
Journalists from various media houses had invaded the Hilltop Mansion of the gap toothed General.
However, everything seems normal as the road and barricade leading to Babangida’s mansion was manned by the same number of security men who have been guarding the place.
This is the second time in the past three months that the former military head of state had been rumoured dead. Known widely among Nigerians, as political ‘Maradonna’ – an affirmation of political trickery and sagacity, has many admirers and haters as well.
