As controversy continue to trail the loaning or endorsement of Governor Gabriel Suswam for the senatorial seat of Benue North-East district by Kwande/ Ushongo people, a prominent son of Ushongo Mr. Andrew Ayabam is set to join the race.
The erstwhile chairman of Benue State Borad of Internal Revenue Mr. Andrew Ayabam told journalists that he has been under pressure from his people to also contest the seat based on his outstanding performance and good will when he headed the board.
“I am not unmindful of my people’s expression of good will, love and appreciation for my person and their expectations that I am stepping out to legitimatize this”, he said.
The banking czar and business mogul said he is yet to decide on what party platform to contest, stating that soon he will disclose that after necessary consultation with his people.
It should be noted that Ayabam who performed very well as chairman of the revenue board and raised the internally generated revenue of the State, IGR was asked to the office by Suswam’s government in circumstance that sparked off public outcry. Now, he is in the race against his former boss.
