Apple has set the date for its latest iPhone’s debut.
Mirror reports, “The tech giant is hosting a virtual event on October 13, with the tag line ‘Hi, Speed.’
“The event is likely to focus on Apple’s 2020 smartphone lineup, given the fact that it announced a new iPad Air and Apple Watch 6 just last month.
“Rumours suggest we could see four new iPhones, called the iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.”
However, leaks suggest that Apple could have some other tricks up its sleeve.
Here’s everything you need to know about launch event next on Tuesday.
When is the Apple event?
The Apple event will take place virtually on October 13.
It will begin at 18:00 BST (10:00 PDT), and is likely to last around two hours.
Where is the Apple event?
While Apple usually hosts a physical event at its Apple Park campus in California, this year, things will be done virtually.
How can you watch the launch event?
As always, Apple will be hosting a livestream of the event on its website and on its YouTube channel.
Mirror Online will also be covering the event live, so make sure you check back in next week for all the latest Apple news!
What will Apple announce at the event?
The key focus of the event is likely to be the iPhone 12 series.
This year, we’re expecting four new iPhones – the iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo indicates that the smallest of the four iPhones will be just 5.4-inches.
Meanwhile, the other three iPhones are expected to be the 6.1-inch iPhone 12, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, and the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max.
The new iPhones are likely to be Apple’s first 5G smartphones – a feature that would fit in well with Apple’s ‘Hi, Speed’ tagline.
All four handsets are expected to have OLED screens, as well as more squared edges than their predecessors.
Apple is also rumoured to be launching AirPods Studio – its first over-ear headphones.
Leaked images indicate that the headphones will feature a metal frame and heavy pads around the ear cups, as well as padding on the headband.
It’s also highly likely that the headphones will be wireless.
Finally, we may get a glimpse at AirPower – Apple’s long-awaited wireless charging matt.
The new device, rumored to be called the iPhone 12, is expected to include superfast 5G wireless connectivity and a new, iPad-inspired design, and it will be unveiled on Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET, 6 p.m. BST). There’s no official word yet on price or release date, but here’s what the latest rumors say.
