The first son of late leader of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu (Jr), may have bagged an automatic ticket to fly the party’s flag in next year’s House of Representatives election for the Nnewi North/Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency seat.
The national chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh had earlier hinted that the party in its wisdom decided to give Ojukwu Junior the ticket to keep his father’s name alive in next year’s election.
Umeh followed his statement up when on Thursday evening in a mixed ceremony of Dim Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu’s post-humous birthday and Emeka Jr presentation to the people raised his hand and introduced him to the large crowd that gathered at Ojukwu’s country home in Nnewi.
Umeh, who on arrival went into Ojukwu’s mausoleum to, according to him, “recharge our strength so that he will guide us in the battle ahead” said the party has found every characteristics of Dim Ojukwu in his son and decided to field him in the election.
