MAKURDI – Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue state has described the opposition, All Progressives Congress, APC, as “a sinking ship and a party that is riddled with crisis, with nothing better to offer Nigerians and Benue state in particular.”
Suswam who was reacting to the crisis rocking the APC arising from the party’s recently held governorship primary election in the state, spoke yesterday in Makurdi while receiving the Masev, Iharev and Nongov youths who visited him to show support for the nomination of Terhemen Tarzoor as the governorship candidate of the PDP in the state.
He stated that, “the APC claim that they are democrats, but what transpired in Benue state during their governorship primary election was nothing but a sham.
“It clearly showed that the party lacked any iota of internal democracy contrary to the clams of their leaders and this is equally a clear indication that these people are just noise makers who have nothing to offer Nigerians.”
Suswam urged Nigerians to be wary of promises being made by the opposition insisting that the PDP offered Nigerians a better platform to actualize their wishes and aspiration.
He argued that “the norm in developed nations is to make young and energetic people leaders, and that is why Benue PDP decided for Terhemen Tarzoor who had overtime demonstrated his zeal and administrative acumen, as Speaker of the Benue state House of Assembly and in other areas of human endeavor.
Earlier, the President of the MINDA Emancipation Movement, Comrade Simon Tyoakaa lauded the governor for ensuring that power shifted to their geopolitical zone for the first time in the history of the state.
“Our people will forever remain grateful for this and we can also assure you that you can count on us in all your endeavours both in politics and outside politics
