Abia State citizens living in Lagos State, under the umbrella of Abia State Town Unions Association (ASTUA), have set aside Saturday, September 20, 2014 as a day of prayer to intercede for their home state, for progress and peace.
The one-day prayer summit to seek the face of God for the affairs of Abia State as well as Nigeria as a whole is billed to hold today at National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
According to a statement by the association’s president, Emma-Anthony Ekwuribe, the prayer summit themed “Abians, Turn to God,” became necessary because of the proximity of the 2015 elections and other issues in the country that seem to have defied human solutions.
He said: “It is a duty for us as citizens to ensure there is good governance in our dear state, Abia. And this can be achieved by calling on God. We are sure He will answer us and Abia will continue to move forward.”
