Not less than 643 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Nigeria on Wednesday, report by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has shown.
According to the latest figures released by Centre in a tweet Wednesday night, the new cases were recorded in 18 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos State logged in 230 new infections to maintain the status of epicentre of infections in Nigeria.
FCT recorded 51 cases, Oyo – 69, Edo – 43, Osun – 35, Rivers and Ebonyi each having 30 cases, Kaduna – 28, Ogun – 27, Ondo – 23, Plateau – 20, Benue – 17, Enugu – 16 and Imo – 10, Delta – 6, Kano – 4, Nasarawa – 2 with Kebbi and Ekiti each having 1 case.
By the data released by the NCDC, Total Infections in Nigeria since the first index case was reported late February stands at 3r,259 out of which a total of 13,999 patients have recovered and have been discharged.
Total number of recorded deaths from the virus since February stands at 760.
