The acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Enugu State, Elder David Aja, has rejected the purported extraordinary meeting of the State Executive Committee (SEC) of the party announced by the party’s state publicity secretary, Okey Eze, saying such was a gross disobedience to party constitution and the National Working Committee’s (NWC) directive.
Aja said in a statement yesterday that he has informed all members of the PDP in the state, security agencies, and the public that the said meeting was illegal and intended to further violate the party’s constitution. “No request whatsoever has been made to me by any member of the party to convene an extraordinary meeting of the PDP in the state in line with the PDP Constitution. Hence whatever resolution emerging from such illegality is not binding on the Enugu PDP or its members,” he said.
Aja added that a proper meeting of the SEC will be convened as directed by the PDP NWC at the appropriate time.
