How did this come to pass? If ESPN is to be believed, it involved the help of a player currently on the books at United:
ESPN FC was told that conversations with former Barcelona teammates such as Cesc Fabregas and Victor Valdes have caused Pedro to reconsider his own first preference. Fabregas enjoyed a successful debut season with Chelsea, winning the Premier League, while Valdes has been marginalised under Van Gaal at United.
If true, this is absolutely hilarious. We’ve known for a while that Cesc Fabregas had loads of good things to say about Jose Mourinho and Chelsea, but hearing that Valdes is working as an anti-recruiter for Louis Van Gaal makes me smile far more than it should.
