More than 10,293 candidates failed to score 200 marks in the post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination conducted by the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, according to the Public Relations Officer of the university, Mr. Abiodun Olarewaju.
Olarewaju, in a statement on Sunday, said the university had released the result of the Saturday examination barely six hours after the conduct of the post-UTME exercise on the website of the institution.
He said, “Out of about 20, 631 candidates, who sat for the screening exercise, 10,338 candidates scored 200 marks and above. This signifies about 58 per cent, specifically 57.08 per cent.
“A sizeable number of the candidates, however, put in exceptional brilliance which produced spectacular results, scoring 300 and above, with four of them, who are aspiring to study Education English, being outstanding.
“Leading with the highest score of 348 is Onyenachi Nze, with UTME no: 55227945CC, aspiring to study English Education, while the second highest of 344 was scored by Olalekan Adebajo, with UTME no: 55552404.
“The other two candidates, who both scored the same marks of 377, are Jude Epunam and Oluwatobi Oseni.”
The statement advised all the candidates that sat for the examination to check their results on the website.
