*Army reinforces need for Buhari to make his certificates public, no matter how horrible they are
The Nigerian Army has declared that all serving and retired officials keep originals of their certificates, while the Army keeps records of educational and military accomplishments.
The position of the Army is in tandem of global best practices and confirm the claim that Buhari must present his certificates or produce photocopies. Director of public relations, Brigadier Olajide Olaleye in an interview said that the Nigerian Army is in possession of all records of serving, retired and deceased officers since its inception.
He added, however, that all military officers are supposed to keep original copies of their certificates. According to him, in the event where an officer loses his or her original copy of records, the concerned officer must officially apply for copies from the army.
The spokesman disclosed that the Nigerian Army responds to such requests in an expeditious manner. Brigadier Olaleye added that he was a former director of records at the Nigerian Army headquarters and had seen records of older and retired generals, affirming that General Buhari’s records were intact. It is shocking that rather than make public his credentials, Buhari and his supporters have engaged in insulting propaganda, trying to find excuses for this deliberate act of corruption.
No matter the level of paid propaganda, Buhari is expected to make public his credentials, so that Nigerians can view the certificates which will be pasted at INEC offices.
Already, opposition leaders are twisting the interview of the Army Chief, in a bid to corruptly divert attention from Buhari’s corruption.
