The Central Bank (CBN) has developed a framework to give grants and long-term facilities for the development of a Nigerian-made vaccine against coronavirus, Godwin Emefiele has said.
According to Emefiele, who is thr bsn’s governor, grants will be reserved for researchers, science institutions and biotechnology firms, the organisation said.
The Governor disclosed this via his to Twitter handle.
He challenged Nigerian Scientists across the world to take advantage of the opportunity to develop a vaccine that will check the Coronavirus.
“CBN will support development of vaccine once validated by the Health Authorities,” he said.
Several Nigerians have made claims that they have found cures and or vacines for the dreadful coronavirus.
The CBN challenge offers them the opportunity to validate their claims.
The search for the cure and vaccine for the virus which has literally crippled activities globally has been vigorous, with many candidate vacancies already undergoing human trial.
