Chief Ebenezer Babatope, a former Minister for Transport, on Friday, said he would not support Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos State, if he decides to run for the presidency in 2023.
Speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, Babatope said his decision is premised upon the fact that both he and Tinubu belong to different political parties.
According to Babatope, while Tinubu is one of the leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), he is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He said he may reconsider his stance if Tinubu decides tomorrow to contest on PDP platform in the future.
“Tinubu is not of the same party with me, so my support or non-support is not important. He belongs to the APC while I am a staunch member of the PDP”.
“If he decides to join my party tomorrow, that is another thing. But right now, he will not seek my support because we are not in the same political party” he said. (Independent)
