Following it historic summit in Abuja last Wednesday, the Grand Coalition of the Nigeria Intervention Movement (NIM) – otherwise known as 3rd Force – has set up a high-powered Steering Committee charged with picking its presidential candidate for the 2019 polls.
This was disclosed via a statement issued last night by the movement and signed by its Deputy Director-General, Mallam Naseer Kura.
The statement disclosed that the Steering Committee, made up of the youth and elders, is co-chaired by legal luminary and human rights advocate, Dr Olisa Agbakoba SAN, and a renowned medical expert and son of former Prime Minister of Nigeria, Alhaji Dr Tafawa Balewa.
The Steering Committee, the statement said, will sit on Wednesday, March 28, in Lagos to agree on the choice of a presidential candidate for the coalition, and other strategic plans ahead of the 2019 general elections.
