Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Thursday declared their total support for the Rivers State PDP leadership under the chairmanship of Bro. Felix Obuah to lead the party to victory in the 2015 Presidential and governorship elections.
The party stakeholders declared their support for the Obuah leadership at the meeting held at the Legacy House of the party.
One of the leaders of the party, Chief Shedrach Amachree told newsmen at the end of the meeting which was heated, stakeholders agreed that the reconciliation was successful and resolved to build on the gains already achieved.
He said that the meeting commended the Minister of State for Education, Nyesom Wike for being a rallying point for Rivers PDP members to ensure that the overcome the opposition in the state.
Another Rivers PDP stakeholder, Engr. Emeka Woke said that reconciliation between genuine PDP members has taken place.
He noted that the Obuah led executive committee will lead the party to victory in 2015. According to him, the PDP will provide the next governor of Rivers State.
Hundreds of pro-PDP and Minister of State for Education, Nyesom Wike youths also gathered at the headquarters changing solidarity songs with the Rivers party leaders.
The youths and elders on solidarity movement commended the Minister of State for Education and the party executives for ensuring the sustenance of the PDP in Rivers State.

The PDP spokesman, Chief Oliseh Metuh in a speech after the reconciliation between the Ijaw and Pro-Rivers PDP Executive group said that the party members would be given the opportunity to elect and nominate aspirants of their choice who would eventually become the party`s candidates for elections in 2015.
“We are promising you that that is what will happen in Rivers and every single state of the federation.
“Our party is against consensus candidate and any idea of intimidating the people. There should be no intimidation and coercion,’’ he said.
Highpoint of the reconciliation meeting at Legacy House was the warm embrace by both groups who left the venue in the Rivers PDP official bus to the home of the Minister of State for Education where they had another reconciliation meeting.
