A two-time member of the House of Representatives in Sokoto state, Hon. Umar Bature has dismissed insinuations that the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) would win the forthcoming general elections in Sokoto.
Bature, who is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state maintained that his party has all what it takes to maintain the winning trend it is known for in spite of the defection of some members to the APC.
Speaking with Sunday Trust in Sokoto at the weekend, the member representing Sokoto North/South federal constituency in the National Assembly also noted that the PDP has remained a branded political platform which could not be pushed aside by any new party.
“PDP has maintained one unique identity which is stability. But today as a member of the PDP, I would not say I am 100 per cent correct but I can tell you that 80 or 90 percent, we are sure of victory. PDP is a national political platform that no new parties can just push aside in any election,” he said
